Hello there! Nice to have you here. My name is Dolly. I’m a bookkeeper who helps and educates food businesses grow, thrive and understand their businesses.
Formerly, I was a payroll tax analyst for about 15 years but add juggling a new baby to that mix—well, that got a little hectic for me. In November 2018, my son was 8 months old, and I just couldn’t juggle being a payroll tax analyst(the W-2 process was intense), being a new mom, a wife, and forget having a social life. So, yes, I quit my “safe cushion” corporate job to have more time with my son. Understandably, I got a little bored(he slept a lot) and I wasn’t really sure what to do.
Should I go back to corporate and go through the same thing or try something else?
You guessed it…I chose “something else”! I researched like crazy for work at home jobs and the majority of my research results were in the Bookkeeping field. So, I went for it and applied for the online Bookkeeping Course which was the start of something wonderful…that’s how I created Bookkeeping Towne on March 3, 2019!!
At first, I just wanted to fill in the time while I was home with my son but it became much more than that. I started collaborating and networking with so many people that I was presented with an incredible offer from Hope & Main. If you haven’t heard of Hope & Main in Warren, RI, they are a non-profit food incubator organization that assists hundreds of food businesses in a program to help them with creating, managing and understanding what it takes to have a successful food business. I collaborated with them back in 2019 and I can say that I have helped several food businesses from Hope & Main and other referrals, as well. I am very passionate about educating business owners about their bookkeeping, how to attain financial security, getting their time back and most importantly, regaining control of the business again!

In 2023, I had a rebrand of my business to focus on my specialization in the food and beverage industry, and À La Carte Business Advisors was born.
